Best Synthetic Oil Care in Seattle, Washington

Ossinger's NW Enterprises offers the best synthetic oil care for your vehicle and helps you provide best all around care for your car, with the following tips.

Avoid these Engine Oil Measurement Errors

Checking your engine oil level may seem like an easy and straightforward task. But do you know what you are doing well? Many people review engine oil when at the pump. When you turn on your engine and drive, the oil lubricates various parts of the engine while working. Engine oil goes everywhere and leaves the crankcase. When checking the level, you will get a low reading and assume you need oil when you don't.

Check Engine Oil on Level Ground

If your car is not on a zero incline, flat surface, oil will move from the oil reservoir into other parts. When the car is tilting, measuring the engine oil level will give you a false reading. Your dipstick may indicate you have too much or too little oil depending on whether your car is tilted more one way or another.

Read the Dipstick

Check the oil level of your engine with the dipstick. The dipstick should be removed and cleaned with a tissue. Put the dipstick back in place for a few seconds and remove again to see if you need oil or not. The rod has two marks, an upper and lower. The first line, closer to the top, marks off the absolute maximum amount of oil you should have in your engine. The second line, closer to the bottom, marks the minimum amount of oil needed. If you need to top off, use the same type and brand of AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil.

Road trips are a great way to spend quality time with your vehicle. However, all of that joyfulness can quickly go away if your car breaks down in the middle of the road! For this reason, this post will give you a checklist of things that you should inspect in your vehicle before leaving so you can have an enjoyable and smooth journey.

What to Check in Your Vehicle Before a Long Journey

  • Flattened, worn out, or damaged tires can mean big trouble if you'll be driving for a long time. Have them properly inspected and check their air pressure so that they'll get you to your destination.
  • Your car's oil, coolant, water, break fluid, transmission fluid, and other liquids should be at the proper level when going on a road trip. Likewise, check that there's no leakage going on.
  • Do a quick inspection round on your windshields, blinkers, headlights, mirrors, and wipers to ensure your visibility isn't compromised while driving.
  • Occasionally, accidents and other mishaps present themselves while you're on the road. Be ready for them by having an emergency kit, your tools, and even your insurance papers in your vehicle.
  • Lastly, it might be an idea to have your vehicle inspected and fine tuned by a professional mechanic. This way, you can get ready to enjoy the ride without any potential upsets.
